Bill to raise minors’ work hours meets with resistance
I have recently written about the hiring of minors, especially in light of the current labor shortage. A bill moving through the New Jersey legislature is looking to allow minors to work more hours over the summer and streamline the process, possibly minimalizing the role of parents or guardians.
Businesses, especially those down at the NJ shore, have a critical need for help and would like the opportunity to allow minors to work extended hours. There are many people, however, who feel this bill will have an overall negative impact on teenagers.
